Ceffaratti's Mission Trip to the Dominican Republic in Honor of Casey

Once again, the Ceffaratti family will be going on their annual mission trip to a very poor community in the Dominic Republic, Sabana Cruz - leaving on July 7, 2012.  On their first visit 7 years ago the community had no running water, limited electricity and extremely poor health conditions.  People had to walk to the river for water, a round trip that took up to 5 hours for some.  We are happy to report that the majority of the community now has access to clean water.  The goal is to put an outside hose faucet at every house.  The Ceffaratti family has been involved in building latrines, which lead to better hygiene in the community.  The community reported that this past year was the first year that they are a healthy community and that no one has died due to a preventable disease. There is still a lot of work to do in Sabana Cruz.  Many families live on less than $1000 per year.
