April 6th is Casey's birthday, she would have been 22 today. Please use this forum to share stories and pictures of how you chose to celebrate Casey's birthday. Whether it was wearing pink or having a party, share how you celebrated her life on this day.
I requested skin care donations for oncology patients at ucla.
For Casey's birthday, Marie Larson and I walked to Magnolia by Fordham and got the last two pink cupcakes that were there. We went to nearby restaurant and sat outside to have a margarita in Casey's honor (often her drink of choice) and had our cupcakes for dessert. I wore one of Casey's pink shirts that her mother, Dianne, gave me once during a visit (I never wear much color and Casey's pink shirt is one of the few pink things I now own). Marie and I sang "Happy Birthday" before eating our cupcakes (maybe looked a little crazy doing so, but that's okay...) Happy Birthday, Casey!
Yesterday I visited Casey's gravesite alone and appreciated the solitude of being there by myself with Casey. I talked to Casey about my memories of the day she was born as well as subsequent birthday celebrations and the party that we had scheduled for her that night. I sang my own happy birthday song to Casey there.
