I am glad this clip has been added to the website. Jim and I were in Cape Cod for a funeral when this aired, so we never got a chance to see it on TV. Joel makes many good points that are worthy of repeating and repeating many times over.

great job Joel...you ARE a making a difference !! Thanks to you and Diane for your committment and efforts to help raise awareness regarding pedestrian safety and the need for better the laws to protect from further accidents and losses.. xxoo
Nice! And as Joel points out, it's not just about signs and fines, but culture change. That means we all need to be advocates for such change. Thanks to Joel and Dianne for the initiative and for making a difference. It's up to all of us to be part of the follow-through.
Really came across well, and I totally "get" the culture piece. While spending time in Vermont recently, the one thing I brought back with me was how courteous and aware drivers are of the pedestrians (especially since the majority of residents walk everywhere.) NJ residents, our part-time residents, as well as visitors need to be thankful for your family's deepest heartfelt efforts as advocates.
I am amazed every time I go to the website (which is very often) that I see and read about more ways you and Dianne are bringing awareness to pedestrian safety. I'm know that your efforts are a blessing to many. Keep up the good work. Casey is very proud. xxoo Rachael
It truly is about a change in culture, not just laws, particularly here on the east coast. Everyone is in such a hurry and people multi task while driving. Drivers too often feel that they have the right of way and that pedestrians should yield to them, instead of the other way around. As we all know, when it is a pedestrian and a vehicle that collide, there is little hope for the pedestrian.
