Susan Thanks for the information. I know in my heart it is all helping, and these details confirm it. All of our bumper stickers spread the awareness as well.

There was an interesting article in the Courier Post on Saturday. An elderly gentlemen commented about the new Pedestrian Law. He said he was crossing the street in Haddonfield when a woman in a beige SUV missed him by two inches. She did not stop and appeared like she was too busy to acknowledge that she almost struck him. He said he was in the crosswalk, but obviously she didn't know the law. This elderly man went on to say he took her tag number, and turned her into the Haddonfield police dept. It just goes to show you that drivers are distracted and really don't obey the law. Lucky for him he is still alive. Unfortunately ,for us Casey is not here. Let's hope all the Dianne and Joel have done for the new law will greatly make a dent in the number of pedestrians killed in traffic accidents.

I applaud New Jerseys efforts to take highway and pedestrian safety serious. Since New Jersey is the nations leading state in pedestrian death its a move in the right direction. Thank you for the update....

Newe Jersey appears to be serious about highway safety. Effective May 1, 2010 a new law will restrict new drivers to only one passenger who is not related in the vehicle, ban all ypes of cell phone use-hands free or othyerwise -and require reflective decals on license plates signifying drivers with less than one years of experience. THis measure, togethyer with the new Pedestrian Safety Law announced last month in connection with Casey's story are good first steps.

Thursday 3/25/10 Delaware County Daily times article Pg6. "Driver Pleads Guilty in fatal NJ accident. " This was breathtaking on so many levels. First of all, my brother's compassion and integrity- perhaps my thoughts belong in another discussion area for that. Next, I finally found out about the driver trying to place iced tea in the passenger cup holder. I have wondered all these months. My "Stop for Pedestrians" bumper magnet makes me drive better. I have to be a good example. I also have a new reminder that I am driving a lethal weapon, that my eyes and attention need always be on the road.. That yellow lights mean slow down and stop, that green lights are never something to speed up and go through to get through an intersection. Leaving early is better, being late just is, and is never a reason to drive aggressively. And last, the article really focuses on the good works in honor of our Casey. Thank you all for caring.
