Dawn and Mark,

We also have a Casey Feldman Network Facebook page where we post news and happenings. A lot has been going on recently with Distracted Driving Awareness Month. If you "like" the page, you should receive updates.  http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/The-Casey-Feldman-Network/25268805...

Thank you Diane, yes Patrick is Bailey's boyfriend. I am glad as well they joined. I have been reading some of what your husband has been up too and it is more than admirable. Bailey and Patrick did some advocating for brain injury last month I was very proud of them. They got there school a bit more aware. Bailey was interviewed by CITV our local school tv station. They didn't air anything this year they want to elaborate and use it next year. The journalism class did a feature article one on Bailey and a former graduate that had also been struck by a motor vehicle. I think hearing their young voices speaks much louder sometimes. I absolutely want to be involved with helping end distractive driving and working with you and your husband. Again I cannot say it enough thank you and Joel for all you have done!

Dawn and Mark,

The t-shirts are a great way to remind people to yield/stop for pedestrians. I commend your efforts to spread the word about pedestrian safety and distracted driving, for joining our site and remembering our daughter, Casey. I am so happy that your daughter just joined our site as well as Patrick Kelly, a 15 yr. old from Conshohocken, who I assume may be your daughter's friend?

Don't forget to visit our Foundation site - www.caseyfeldmanfoundation.org, click on News and Updates and go to pedestrian safety/distracted driving. Joel and I have been speaking at schools throughout the area as part of National Distracted Month in April. You may want to join us in that effort at some point in the future.

Warmest regards,

Dianne

Though they did eventually put up more permanent crosswalk signs. Since then I believe two people have been hit on Fayette St.
Also distracted driving is what ultimately led to the driver plowing right through the intersection hitting Bailey causing her small 76 pound body to travel some 40-60 feet. On a road where the speed limit is 35mph. The driver never slowed down despite other stopped traffic; because he was distracted by his cell phone! He was cited for not yielding to the pedestrians in the crosswalk. A minor fine. He was never charged for being on a cell phone and possibly smoking at the same time he hit her. It honestly was crushing to hear it was not a simple accident. This was pure neglectful distracted driving. Someone in a hurry doing at least two more things than they should have on May 19, 2009 that resulted in changing the path of my daughters life forever. It stole the smiles from my younger boys and left one feeling like his once safe world was "unfair". There is only one thing you should be doing when you are in a vehicle that has the potential to kill and that is to DRIVE.

Hi Mark - Can you post a photo of Bailey?   I want to send a card so do you live on 5th Ave.?  Dianne and Joel, Casey's parents, worked very hard to get a new law passed in New Jersey.  Now you have to STOP for pedestrians.  You can read all about it on Casey's website.  Hope you and your family have a Happy and Blessed Easter.
